Review of Snowpiercer (2013) by Eugene B — 27 Dec 2017
Outstanding movie. Chris Evens and John Hurt are great in this movie. Evens definitely shows his acting range as well.
This is an almost non stop action ride. For a movie that is almost non stop action, it does a great job of not being repetitive. It does this by not just having our protagonists fight through a lot of guys, but by giving them new obstacles as they make their way through the train, so every encounter with the antagonists feels fresh and new.
It also has some clever twists that you will not see coming. You will think certain scenes or lines are just throw away but end up meaning a lot and you may not pick it up until a re-watch.
The setting of the movie is also very original. We have seen the post apocalyptic wastelands before but not like this. The movie takes place after the earth has a second ice age created by man to fight global warming and the only survivors are left on a massive train that was designed to withstand the harsh environment.
10/10.
Outstanding movie.
