Review of Snowpiercer (2013) by Juli S — 27 Jan 2015
If you like Sci-Fi, Snowpiercer is worth seeing. Based on a graphic novel, it does require you to suspend disbelief often, but it's a lot more interesting than any superhero movie. Visually, the film is stunning.
It reminded me of City of Lost Children w/ steampunk overtones. I love that Korean director/writer Joon-ho Bong (The Host, Mother etc.) has achieved wide release in the U.S. with this film, which has one of the most international casts of any film I've ever seen.
I would have rated it higher if there had been a more developed backstory complete with visuals.
