Review of Smother (2008) by Steve S — 04 Jan 2009
:rotten: :rotten: (out of four).
Fairly typical tale about a young man and his wife, whose lives are disrupted when his overbearing and out right zany mother moves in with them after a fight with her husband. Once there, the mother gets involved in every part of her sons life and doesn't let go..

Diane Keaton, as the mother, offers her usual charm and eccentric energy. Even in a bad movie, she gets a chance to show off. Dax Shepard is also decent as the son, but the end product is very average. There is nothing that distinguishes this as something special. Almost every plot twist and turn can be predicted far in advance..
