Review of Smiley Face (2007) by Karan K — 10 Feb 2008
Out magazine was right, if there were an award for best performance as a stoner, Anna Faris would win. I'm a huge Gregg Araki fan and I loved Anna Faris in May and Lost in Translation. And John Krasinski is in it too? Could it get any better? As a non-stoner, I really enjoyed it.
It's dumb comedy but it's not crap like most of the mainstream stuff. It was surprisingly coherent... her journey made sense and I really didn't find it to be odd. There were good cameos as is to be expected in an Araki film.
I recommend it.
