The movie is in love with itself. The actors practically walk around with signs above their heads screaming, "I'm quirky, dammit!" Dennis Quaid is disturbingly good at playing a pompous jerk.
Sara Jessica Parker reminds us all that that Sex and the City is off the air and little else. The doofus from Sideways plays basically the same character here, but it is the best part of the movie. The chick from Juno is great doing a Tracy Flick impersonation.
