Despite the fact that it's more than a little bit pretentious and slow, Slow West is nonetheless a spectacularly well executed Western with enough old school grit mixed with new school visual style to be gripping for most viewers.
If you tune in for nothing else, tune in for Fassbender's ridiculously good transformation into a cowboy as compelling as anything John Wayne ever did.
