Review of Sling Blade (1996) by Codie E — 14 Sep 2010
Billy Bob Thornton's performance in this film is one of my all time favourite performances and highlights the becoming of an actor into character. Thornton and his vanity/ego are no where to be seen.
Karl is on screen and what a towering and commanding prescence he has. With such an interesting character, Thornton the writer keeps the story simple, the cast small and excels in dialogue and detail.
Thornton the director sets the perfect mood, pace and look for the film. Subtle, moving and simple. A true tour-de-force film.
