Review of Sleuth (1972) by Jeremy L — 06 Mar 2010
In true Harold Pinter style, Sleuth has all the raw intensity and dark humour that keeps you riveted to the screen from beginning to end. And really, I must say that I have no idea what people are talking about when they're trashing Kenneth Branagh.
Whether the 1972 version was better or not is just irrelevant, and for myself I must say that the modern-day, ultra-contemporary makeover works perfectly for Pinter's "comedy of menace" style.
