Review of Sleeping Beauty (1959) by Sarah G — 29 Jun 2009
My favorite Disney movie as a kid and remains so until this day. The artwork, the plot, the magic, and the three good fairies~ God, I love it all. If that's not enough incentive to see it, here's a few more reasons:
1) Aurora [aka. Sleeping Beauty/SB] had the best looking blue dress ever.
2) SB was more successful pretending to be a peasant (how many princesses can say that).
3) For the Prince & SB, it was love at first sight: no magic carpets, rescues, or gifts attached.
4) SB can dance with an owl in a cape.
5) She's harder to get~ hence more valuable.
6) Maleficent doesn't even pretend to be good... she's bad through and through.
7) SB didn't need to wear anything revealing to get a man's attention.
8) birds stop singing to hear SB.
9) SB knows the danger of skin cancer~ wears a shawl.
I could go on and on...stop me while I'm ahead;^).
