Review of Slaughterhouse-Five (1972) by Caitlin B — 06 Jun 2007
Terrible representation of a great book. A painfully sad attempt at capturing author Kurt Vonnegut's wit and sarcasm on-screen. The characters fall short of their in-print versions, the acting is meso meso, and the feel of it is unbearably dated due to lame & ugly '70's special effects that could only serve to make you laugh out of turn.
Mainly, this is a snooze. The best part (and only memorable one other than Montana's nudity) is the initial march in Dresden, because the buildings are pretty. Only watch it if you liked the book and you feel that you must see this.
Otherwise...I'd say, just read the novel.
