Review of Slacker Uprising (2007) by Paula K — 01 Oct 2008
Where to start on this one? As a strict documentary, we see a lot of people praising Michael Moore when it would have been more effective to focus on how his presence created so many different impacts in the 2004 election - whether you like him or not, everyone had an opinion.
In a way though, I think it fundamentally captured the election. 2004 was about anti-Bush, nowhere in the movie was there a compelling arguement for Kerry other than the fact that he wasn't Bush. That's why the movment failed and its a warning about passion without substance.
