Review of Sisters (1973) by Paul N — 31 May 2010
This gets high marks for the brilliantly tricky beginning, the audacious splitscreen use during a pivotal scene and an absolutely frenzied final half-hour. Lots of de Palma's later methods are at work here.
Towards the end I sensed a freedom, an experimentation. I believe this is fairly close to undiluted de Palma and it kicks a lot of his later compromised thrillers into a ditch.
