Review of Sisters (1973) by Zach T — 17 Jan 2016
People disregard this movie because it has references to Hitchcock. But de Palma most likely assumed his film viewers would recognize these references, as opposed to him pretending he invented these conventions.
It's just as much Cronenbergian as it is Hitchcockian, and it is the perfect blend between the two. It is very much a body horror movie, with very striking resemblances to Dead Ringers, the Brood, Rabid, etc.
