Review of Since You Went Away (1944) by Jeff B — 10 Dec 2008
I wholeheartedly enjoyed this film. It was a very real take on the home front of World War II and was a true coming of age story. I enjoyed all of the performances, and was impressed with the radiant Jennifer Jones.
You can really feel her character grow throughout the film which made it all the more rewarding to watch. The train leaving scene is one of the more memorable of this film and touched me the most. I also enjoyed Joe Cotten in this one.
