Review of Since You Went Away (1944) by Shirley M — 25 May 2009
Sentimental, archetypal tale of life on the home front during WWII. So much from this has since become cliché to the point of parody (see the train station scene, made more famous by inclusion in Airplane!).
Still, it will tug at your heart strings and make even the most cynical feel patriotic.
