Review of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014) by Isadore H — 07 Jun 2017
A Dame to Kill For is definitely not as good at the original, after an awesome opening the film for sure has its moments of pure badassery, but it feels a little underwhelming when compared to the near perfect original film.
The action is just as over the top, the acting is just as good, and the style of the film is arguably improved upon. Where this film stumbles is the story of Gordon-Levitts character. He does a phenomenal job with his performance, but his story didn't really feel like it worked with the rest of the film.
In fact, neither did Josh Brolins either, but to a lesser degree. The film as a whole seemed a tad scatterbrained, however if you loved the original, this one might be worth your time. No guarantees though.
