Review of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014) by Larry C — 16 Nov 2016
Very disappointed. Sin City was my second favourite film, however, this sequel is far from favourable. The plot focused on a story set before other events (other than the Yellow Bastard) in the film film, a classic femme fatale noir tale with a twist. They tried to stay true to the comic book but looked flimsy with the preposterous action. The others stories were completely pointless, I don't even know why Miller couldn't have used his other stories but he felt a need to make some new ones that are terrible. The new sequel to the Yellow Bastard was necessary, Hartingan died and that's it, leave the dead undisturbed for goodness sake.
Gordon-Levitt was a terrible cast, absolutely dreadful; the only other equally dread choice was Lady Gaga, why oh why? Miho was ruined completely, she was the best character and now they gave her a ridiculous new characterization which didn't work. Save your time if you enjoyed the first film, don't watch this.
