Review of Silverado (1985) by Steven W — 02 Mar 2009
By 1985 the wstern as An American genre was struggling to find an Audience.
In that very same year 2 westerns this and Pale Rider sought to redress the balance.
While Eastwoods film took the more serious approach Kasdans film paid homage to the classic western by including all the staples of the genre.
These included the stampede, the final Shootout, the hissable badguys and the beautiful scenery for the wagon train .
Kasdan also assembled a great cast with Kevin Kline ,Scott Glenn ,Danny Glover and Kevin Costner all turning in good performances.
A great traditional western that knows its treading in the footsteps of Ford And Hawks.
