Review of Silent Running (1972) by Patrick Y — 08 Nov 2007
The first film to tackle now trendy enviromental issues, this really got audiences of the day thinking. Taken as kids film, this could bring them to tears, as the relationships between lonely Dern and his robots hit the emotions.
As a Sci Fi, this is still relevent, if not more so, and had plenty of ideas that were half-inched by George Lucas. If you've never seen this sit down and watch it with your kids, and don't be suprised if it leaves you with a big lump in your throat.
