Review of Silent Running (1972) by Simon P — 28 Jul 2008
Well, I just reviewed Wall-E so thought it best to give you the low-down on his Great-great-great-great-//-great-great granddad. This movie IS very dated by our high-tech-CGI-THX-digital standards, and the Joan Baez theme song just makes me think of hashed-up hippies.
..but you mustn't miss the point. People are constantly trying to mess up the planet. Why? Well, your guess is as good as mine, but someone has to stop them. In this movie, Bruce Dern does so in the ultimate way.
And all that's left is THE sweetest robot ever...alone...for eternity... Watch this movie (in it's time setting) and then RE-watch Wall-E.
