Review of Silent Running (1972) by Ted C — 19 Apr 2009
Kind of corny but enjoyable slice of eco-friendly early 70s sci-fi with Bruce Dern as the passionate biologist on a space station trying to save the forest he is caring for. Dern is wild eyed and borderline nuts, before he's pushed over the edge by the decision to abort his mission.
Cool design and superb outer-space effects mark this post-2001/pre-Star Wars space adventure.
