Review of Silent Hill (2006) by Kjetil H — 29 Jul 2011
Okay, so Silent Hill isn't a great film by any means. A convoluted plot, overlong run-time, unnecessary exposition and jilting dialogue that consists mainly of characters yelling out other characters' names all taint what is, surprisingly, an otherwise chilling horror film.
The saving grace, undoubtedly, are the visuals. If for no other reason, watch Silent Hill to enjoy the rich visual aesthetics and gruesome set-pieces. A lot of imagination and effort has been given to the direction and special-effects, it all works towards a horrifying recreation of the game's tone.
