Review of Silent Hill (2006) by Matthew M — 18 Jan 2012
It may not be perfection (films based on games seldom are) but it does pack enough of a punch, enough action and horror to get the audience through the relatively short running time. The atmosphere is constant and frightening, the visuals impressive and foreboding, and the actors good - Gans' tight direction and the sound effects create a tense and dramatic movie, overall.
Of course, as always, there are flaws - maybe the plot doesn't work too well as a film and not a game, due to the interactive aspect and more fear for the person you are controlling - but that doesn't mean this isn't a film you should see; quite the opposite in fact.
If you like horror films, or just a good scare, I recommend you see this.
