Review of Silent Hill (2006) by Wtfcontigo R — 10 Sep 2011
This is one of the mosts tylish horror films I have ever seen. Based on one of my favourite games it does not dissappoint as did those horrible Resident evil films. There is a great visual style at work here that defeats it's own flaws as a film that others have cared to mention,.
I personally did not see the flaws other reviewers have, Radha Mitchell is great as the protagonist worried mother and seems to be in a slight ethereal state as is the movies setting which really matches the tone. Sean Bean is oddly but well cast, The mystery at hand unfolds nicely until it's climactic end and the realistaions leave quite an impact for the viewer.
Overall there is a lot of style at work here and comes off as a rich horror story laiden with great visuals, scary monsters and a very nice ending. although I must say I was a fan of the video game. enjoy :D.
