Review of Sicko (2007) by Jeff S — 04 Dec 2011
Ah, nothing like a Michael Moore film to depress the crap out of you. Sicko draws attention to the numerous problems of non-regulated corporations running rampant with products and services that could be considered necessities.
Mr. Moore wants more government control, but, unfortunately, governments are often just as corrupt and unjust as the corporations themselves. So what's the solution? Probably something in the middle, I imagine, that somehow draws a parallel between both facets.
I just finished reading a John Grisham novel titled "The Rainmaker" that addressed the very same problem with medical insurance companies presented in this film, and the similarities were amazing.
Greed is certainly an amazing thing. As long as everyone wants everything for themselves, there simply won't be enough to go around.
