Excellent performances from its two main lead actors as well as a surprise from young Isabela Moner as the drug kingpin's daughter highlight this very intense and entertaining, but ultimately uneven, film.
Violent to an extreme but consistent to its subject matter, this is not the movie for those who want a light summer popcorn flick.
