Review of Sicario (2015) by Brian S — 18 Feb 2016
From director Denis Villneuve, who would later bring us Blade Runner 2049 (2017), which is in my opinion one of the best sequels ever made, comes sicario, a movie that's really good at showing us the ugly and brutal truth of the Mexican drug cartel, which leaves a shocked, intense feeling inside you.
A remarkable piece of work, with solid performances, fun shootouts and an interesting intensity, and seeing younger Daniel Kaluuya from the amazing Get Out (2017) was fun too. I'm very interested to see what the 2018 sequel, Sicario 2: Soldado, will be like.
