Review of Shutter Island (2010) by Charlie H — 29 Dec 2012
I think Shutter Island is like a labyrinth, you enter in it, you don't find the way out, you get confused, there is more anxiety to find the way out, then you start to calm down and try to find the way out, you understand it and then your out.
..that is Shutter Island. The plot is sometimes a jumble, but an effective atmosphere, a great score, crazy visuals, intense moments and outstanding performances from DiCaprio, Ben Kingsley, Patricia Clarkson and Jackie Earl Haley make this movie worth it.
It's not the greatest work of Martin Scorcese, but his direction is still assured and Shutter Island manages to be an intense puzzle piece of work.
