Review of Showtime (2002) by Kyle M — 22 Aug 2014
It works well as a buddy cop film. It works a little fine on satirizing the genre by presenting cliches that were wanted to be re-filmed/duplicated. The casted duo fit somewhat perfectly in an okay way since they have experiences. De Niro trying out a serious cop again while being annoyed and should've deserved better, along with probably mis-casted Rene Russo; while Murphy was trying to show he can be a cop again in Beverly Hills.
However, it's mostly unfunny - meaning a failed satire that can be a miss when there are blocks in the way - when the duo managed to do something funny a few times before the bloopers. (B-).
