Review of Shoulder Arms (1918) by Sarah K — 25 Jul 2007
One of the few movies made about World War I, this is a comic gem among the short films of that era. Made as a moral booster for the fighting soldiers in 1918, it came late in the war, but many soldiers praised its realistic portrayal of the battlefield and integration of humor in a war situation.
One of my favorite of Chaplin's shorts and worth a few dozen laughs at least.
