Enjoyable and a cute story- but none of the characters were very likable. as usual- claire danes does a decent job, but doesn't allow you to fully want her character to succeed. steve martin is the most likable person at the film, which is sad, because he's kind of a dick (a rich guy who buys claire danes lots of stuff- which she thinks means they're 'in love').
jason schwatzman's character is adorable and entertaining- but suggesting use of a jiffy pop bag in place of a condom is not cute... at the end he appears in a suit and we are to believe he is a 'whole new man'.
.. the ending is happy- but you don't really care as much as you would have, had the characters been likable.
