Review of Shopgirl (2005) by Iris R — 24 Sep 2009
This movie is definitely driven by dialogue as opposed to action. The drama is very subtle and awkwardness seems to be the defining trait of each character. It is darkly funny in some parts, and Jason Schwartzman does provide some goofy humor as well, but overall I feel that nothing really happened.
It's a character study as opposed to a real plot. But Steve Martin is a good writer so the movie was enjoyable.
