Okay, it's violent. Even grotesque. It's not for one of those sensitive "girls night at the movies". You'll get no points from your wife for renting it, in fact, you'll probably have to apologize.
But it's almost comical in its violent absurdity. Do not watch if you are easily offended, or even not so easily, but I found it to be surprisingly engaging. Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti are probably pretty embarrassed to have it on their resume, but taken for the guilty pleasure that it is, I actually enjoyed it.
