Review of Shogun Assassin (1980) by Aidan H — 22 Jun 2007
I remember when I first saw this movie and it shocked the socks off me. Banned in the UK for its extreme violence, the story of a masterless samurai and his small son is told through a series of set-pieces that are audacious and spell-binding, to say nothing of blood-drenched.
For anyone with an interest in genre-defining Asian cinema, this is a must-have for the collection. Awesome!
