Shining Through is a hypnotizing blend of romance and war, a genuine and utterly smooth World War 2 film that really has it all. A spellbinding and endlessly enjoyable war film, an edge of your seat, top notch, exhilarating and searingly engaging film. It's realistic, well done, expertly crafted and really keeps you watching for the duration. It's not overly sappy and not overdone, it's a genuine mixture of romance and war. Shining Through is a tense and absolutely spellbinding story of romance, trust, deception, espionage and the power of the enduring human spirit.. It's a supremely clever and rock-solid World War 2 film that deals in the dangerous world of espionage, the gripping storyline takes place against the lavish backdrop of America on the brink of war and the hellish backdrop of Hitlers Nazi-fueled capital city of Berlin, Germany. A romantic spy thriller that traps the viewer into a seductive love story that's wrapped around a searingly amazing story of bravery and trust. Shining Through is the big screen adaptation of the novel by the same name, Director David Seltzer and company did a masterful job of transitioning the pages of the book to tue big screen. It will engulf you in a trance of amazement and entertainment, a highly enjoyable piece of excellent filmmaking.

Michael Douglas is great throughout in a humorless and subdued performance, he makes it work and is a pleasure to watch. Melanie Griffith makes the film in my opinion, she is truly spectacular throughout. Liam Beeson never disappoints and gives anothee brilliant villainous performance. Excellent acting all around.
