Review of She Done Him Wrong (1933) by Mark S — 26 Oct 2009
The first film where Mae West invited Cary Grant to come up and see her. The actual line in this is, "Why don't you come up sometime and see me?" The more often quoted, "Come up and see me sometime" came in her next film, I'm No Angel, which was released the same year and also co-starred Grant.
No wonder there's some confusion over the line. She Done Him Wrong is very slight, and not just because it's only 66 mins long, and the musical numbers are dated and trite, but West's quips and sassy star presence make this worth a look.
