Review of She Done Him Wrong (1933) by Matthew C — 10 Feb 2010
A very young Cary Grant shows up in this tongue in cheek movie about crazy goings on in the late 1800s. Mae West dishes a constant stream of sexually charged dialog, some of it very funny. Like some other comedies from around the same time, it sometimes shifts moods rather drastically, like when a few of the main characters buy it in a shoot out.
It's a fun movie over all, though hardly a classic. The pickings must have been scarce for this to get a best picture nomination in '33.
