Review of Shane (1953) by Paolo K — 15 Jul 2009
Great classical western. The film is slowly paced at certain points and there are a few too many reactions of Joey in which he has a complete and utter blank look on his face but other than that the narrative sucks you in and you find yourself rooting for the Starrets and Shane.
Ladd gives a great performance as Shane and both his bar fight and final showdown are just great action sequences. The film is also beautifullly shot with some great cinematography. The legendary final lines tug at the heart.
...come back Shane...come back. :).
