Review of Shane (1953) by Calvin C — 04 Oct 2013
Shane is one of those characters whose past is a mystery and remains that way. All he wants and the family he works for is to live quiet, simple lives. But, there are always bad guy trying to screw that up. The villains are evil, but they are fighting for something as much as the homesteaders. It is only after the violence goes too far that Shane decides to take matters in his own hands. There are some great fight scenes and the climax is intense and exciting. The little boy Joey gets a little annoying, but he is so in love with Shane, you can't blame the kid for being smitten by him. By the end of the film, we all are.
Grade: A-.
