Review of Shame (2011) by Ricardo P — 21 Oct 2012
Brilliantly acted and relentless depiction of two people being destroyed by their internal demons. I feel that many of the reviews I've read of this are missing the point - that this is not a depiction of a man gradually losing control of his sexual addiction - rather it is a man, and his sister, shown tearing themselves apart from within as a consequence of childhood trauma.
It's just that, in his case, the mode he chooses of self-destruction is through unhealthy sexualityâ¦.
