Review of Shame (2011) by Deanomite — 31 Jan 2020
Solid performances by Carey Mulligan (Wildlife was her best) and Michael Fassbender, first movie I am aware of covering sex addiction, which is really intimacy avoidance. The song was terrible, singing in movies should be relegated to musicals.
The performances are shallow, but I imagine that is the point. I really like that Fassbender never says anything unnecessarily. I like that romance turns him off, where most people would have trouble not being intimate he is opposite.
His character would be more interesting if he was recuperating from a heartbreak instead of never having really had a relationship.
