The second film by the virtuoso director Steve McQueen explores the obsession and decadence of the human being delivered to a vice, be it drinks, drugs, games ... the object chosen here is sex, and could not be better, since not everyone plays or They all drink and not everybody gets drunk, but they all have sex, and it's very easy to put themselves in the shoes of Brandon (Michael Fassbender) and feel his sadness, a guy who has everything and at the same time has nothing.

The linear script that has tones of subjectivity tells the story of Brandon (Michael Fassbender), a successful man who is addicted to sex, but his vice ends up being suppressed when his sister Sissy (Carey Mulligan) ends up coming to live with him, The depressed and troubled girl causes impact, doubt, and despair in Brandon's life.

"Shame" does not even have half the depth and depth of Lars Von Trier's "Ninfomaniaca," but even so, the film has something to say, it talks about suffering and unflagging happiness, even when our protagonist Cling to claim and aspire to some happiness, he fails in what is his obsession, sex is more than a valve of escape, sex is the way out of sorrow while being the gateway, all around Brandon needs some time to happen, his boss has sex with someone, the station arrives, his sister falls into depression and until his computer comes back, and Brandon hoped his happiness would be the same, but he is not, and When he realizes this, he despairs, Brandon is the people realizing that we will not always achieve our goals.

Another interesting point is how Brandon's desperation is portrayed to get rid of his vice, and when he is fucking and about to have orgasm the camera focuses on his face of terror and complete despair, and purely repentance for not being able to Get rid of it and follow your life, orgasm for Brandon is your worst pain.

The film has a gray and blue-toned photograph, we have a camera that at times is focused on the picture and in others, especially in the sex where Brandon is addicted to his vice, the camera is uncontrollable, the movie has idea repetitions and A slow pace, even with less than two hours, the viewer feels his time, but even so, technically, the work is well finished, in addition to having a good soundtrack.

Carey Mulligan is wonderful, facing and going through all the conflicts that his character faces, alternating peaks of happiness, depression and sadness, his character is a roller coaster very well acted by Carey, and of course, the great stele here, Michael Fassbender is Completely wonderful, without frills he loses himself inside his character and leaves his anguish to appear and puts the viewer in the skin of his character.

"Shame" is a condensed film and at the same time dense, the writer is extremely subtle in the ways of history, and this is beautiful, the film gains a reality and beautiful naturalness, moreover, the lack of modesty and good performances added To the movie that deals with the terror of sex, full of nudity not to be attractive or exciting, on the contrary, is a hammer, all these aspects contribute to the great "Shame.
