Review of Shame (2011) by Your Friend G — 12 Jan 2013
Michael Fassbender plays Brandon. A man which seems to have everything yet nothing. He is a sex addict, and like any addict his vise is the one and only thing that matters to him. He isn't accustomed to any type of intimacy, and lives his life avoiding it as much as he can.
His life seems to spiral out control when his sister decides to move in. Not being able to cope without his constant gratification and opening up to his sister. Brandon falls deeper and deeper to self destruction.
An incredible performance by Michael Fassbender, and probably the best single acting performance I have ever seen on screen. The film's NC-17 rating has already developed some controversy. This is because of the explicit sex scenes throughout the film.
Having watched the film I do recognize the mature content of this film and the need to keep it to mature audiences. This film though should not be labeled because of it's sexual content but by incredible acting by Fassbender and Mulligan.
This is by far the best movie I have seen this year.
