Review of Shall We Dance (1937) by Matt M — 25 Dec 2013
Seventh feature to star the legendary on screen couple of Rogers and Astaire. Ballet star falls in love with a nightclub hoofer; however she is about to get married and retire from the scenes. Needless to say, Astaire does not back down, and with Rogers, gives way to some beautiful tap dancing sequences along with some of the most memorable Gershwin songs, most of all perhaps 'They Can't Take that Away From Me'.
Funny and filled with the right energy and glamour that characterises and distinguishes the musicals of the musicals of the silver screen era.
