Review of Shall We Dance (1937) by Zac S — 04 Jan 2009
Not just the best of the astaire-rogers movies, not just among the best movie musicals ever (below perhaps only fare such as singin in the rain and the band wagon, only the former of which I personally l ike better) but a nearly perfect movie.
like some others in the genre it perhaps goes on a little too long, but what a time it gives us. if nothing else, watch it for fred and ginger's roller skate dance.
