Tis a film based on the same play thou art depicting the making of (Romeo and Juliet). Thy work is clever and full of thee ole British spirit, alas not without its fair share of tom foolery and sporadic pompous use of the Shakespearean language.
Thus 'Shakespeare in Love' tis an inconsistent yet charming and exuberant love story replicating the poetry of its real life inspiration. But to recommend or not to recommend, that is the question.
