Review of Shaft (1971) by Michael T — 15 Aug 2008
One of the first and best 'blacksplotation' films. It was also one of the few such films directed by an African-American director (Gordon Parks). Richard Roundtree is so cool as John Shaft, 'one badass muthah__.
' The late Isaac Hayes' score set the standard for 'soul cinema' soundtracks that few other composers could meet.
