Shaft is by far the first and best of many "Blaxpotation" movies, and as they got on they would definately lower there standards like many film sequels.
Yet never has there been such a underground Movie theme that is more deserving of an Oscar than that of Isaac Hayes Legendary and catchy as hell "Shaft".
Richard Roundtree is a pro, and does the film proud, even though the Cinematagrophy is a bit lame, even for an exploitation movie.
Final Verdict: Shaft is well worth the watch nevertheless, and with the release of "Black Dynamite" looming over us, dont forget to check out the classic, Muther F*cker.
