Review of Shadows and Fog (1991) by Israel N — 07 Apr 2010
A serious of killing have ocurred in a small town in the 20's. The people are ready to confront him and they get Max Kleinmann (Woody Allen) to take care of the murderer. He meets Irmy (Mia Farrow) wandering around the streets and thee two have to confront danger during a foggy night.
Excelent cinematography in black and white, perhaps the greatest achievement of the film. At this point, Allen was experimenting with new stuff such as wide takes or visual effects as it was seen in subsequent movies like "Husbands and Wives" and "Everyone Says I Love You".
Not among his best work but is enjoyable. Jodie Foster, Lily Tomlin, Kathy Bates, John Cusack, David Ogden and Julie Kavner appear too.
