Review of Shadow of the Vampire (2000) by Patrick B — 27 Oct 2007
A movie that would have worked better as a dark comedy. It is in some scenes, but the whole tone of the movie was too serious for the storyline. I think that if they had a bit more fun with it, this would have been a better movie.
Willem Dafoe does an adequate job at playing Max Schrek, although, he is not nearly as creepy as the man he's portraying. The movie ended well, but it would have been even more satisfying if the picture was a bit more focused, and sort of had a more comical tone.
